Lucy Hayes (she/her) is a writer and teacher from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is, frankly, reluctant to associate herself with institutions, but for the sake of professional biography (and with utter gratitude): she received her MFA in Poetry from Randolph College, she teaches writing within the Minnesota State College System. For the sake of personal biography: she enjoys swimming in the lakes in Minnesota and the ocean in Maine or at Jacob Riis, watching movies with her friends, and riding her bike around the city, whichever city she is in. She is luxuriating in, avoiding, and lamenting the long, luminous process of writing her first collection of poetry.
